Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll gives leaves their green colour.Since the dawn of time, mankind and nature has co-existed and benefited each other. Over the thousands of years of histories, man depends on nature to live or tends to live naturally. In fact, nature has provided man with virtually every single necessity of his life. Without the providence of nature, human will surely perish.

In form or in spirit, man's dependence on nature has never been static. Unlike other creatures, man is endowed with an intellect or the thinking brain. Such an endowment has given man the added capacity to create and discover, and to improve on the quality of life.

It is no surprise that in the pursuit to satisfy his spiritual, mental and physical needs, man is no longer simply a primitive dependant of nature, but has sought to uncover the hidden treasures of nature for the betterment of mankind.

From time immemorial, man has never stop to conquer the nature. The nature's resources of the sun and the plant, whereby become objects of intense research and discoveries by man.

One of the most significant discoveries that man has ever made out of nature is the discovery of a substance called Chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is that green pigments, found in all green plants and vegetables. It is often referred to as the blood of plants.

Chlorophyll absorbs light to provide energy for the synthesis of carbohydrates from carbon dioxide and water (photosynthesis). One characteristic of chlorophyll is that it contains abundant minerals, vitamins, protein and trace elements. This is the reason why, as a food substance, chlorophyll constitutes one of the richest food supplements known to us today. Chlorophyll is therefore essential to our vitality and well-being, ensuring that we stay and remain healthy.

What is Chlorophyll?

Generally, chlorophyll is a green pigment found in green leafy plants or vegetables. Chlorophyll absorbs light to provide energy for the synthesis of carbohydrates from carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (photosynthesis). Together with the minerals absorbed from the ground, enable plants to produce vitamins, fats, proteins and carbohydrates for them to grow and survive.

Chlorophyll has been found since long time ago, but with the development of vitamin products, mankind tends to overlook the benefits of chlorophyll.

With the rapid grow of modern disease, scientists start to research on the natural health care. After many thorough researches and studies made by scientists, this concentrated green juice has been found to provide mankind with abundant nutrition.

Scientists have recovered a state-of art technology, which is to extract chlorophyll from the plants with a very simple process. This technology will retain the nutritious value of chlorophyll and constitute one of the best food supplements known to us today.

Dr Richard Willstatter, a German chemist, and the winner of Nobel Prize year 1915 found that the chlorophyll molecule bears a striking resemblance to hemoglobin, the red pigment in human blood. The red blood pigment is a web of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen atoms grouped around a single atom of iron. Nature's green pigment is a similar web of the same atoms, except that its centerpiece is a single atom of magnesium.

Chlorophyll and Red Blood CellIllustrated on the right are the respective chemical structures of Hemoglobin and Chlorophyll. Note the similarities between the two. Hemoglobin is a network of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen atoms grouped around a single atom of iron. The main difference between Hemoglobin and Chlorophyll was that the Hemoglobin molecule contains an iron atom at its centre while Chlorophyll has a magnesium atom. This similarity between hemoglobin and chlorophyll has made it beneficial for human health.

This discovery has lead to chlorophyll's becoming a useful nutritional aid for the human body. It is known to cleanse the body and especially to strengthen the action of the circulatory, intestinal and female reproductive systems. It has also been found useful in external skin applications and as a gargle. In addition, chlorophyll is known to neutralize body odors and to act as a natural deodorant.

Scientists have also found that chlorophyll helps to thicken and strengthen the walls of the body cells of living animals. In this sense, chlorophyll is also a nutritional aid for the immune system, since it helps to strengthen cells so they can use their own defenses when needed. Chlorophyll also helps to promote the elimination of toxins from the body.

Chlorophyll has been found to be non-toxic, soothing to body tissues and safe for use by people of all ages. It can be used to clean fruits and vegetables when a few drops are added to water.
